With FAVORCT - The purpose of the Council is to advise in the establishment and maintenance of a comprehensive system of services for children, youth and families within the Region. Pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes 17a-30 (formerly 17-434) the mission of the Council shall be:

  • To advise the Commissioner of the Department of Children and Families on the development and delivery of services in the Region
  • To facilitate the coordination of services for children, youth and their families in the Region

Transforming Communities Initiative with BTS

with the Bridge to Success plus Organizations 

TCI was launched to advance community

partnerships that focus on improving the health & well-being in communities served by the Ministries of Trinity Health. Trinity Health is one of the largest multi-institutional Catholic health care delivery systems in the nation, serving in 22 states. TCI is an innovative funding model and technical assistance initiative supporting eight communities using policy, system, and environmental (PSE) change strategies to prevent tobacco use and childhood obesity, as well as address social determinants of health.

 Parent Cabinet members currently have two active subcommittees, one on self governance structure for the parent cabinet and one on special education needs for preschool children with specific focus on the transition from Birth to Three services to preschool special education services as well as equity and access to care for children that have special needs.

National Convening on Building an Inclusive Human Services System

Part of the Administration for Children and Families’ (ACF) commitment to equity as stated in “Equity in Action: Prioritizing and Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities " 

 The conference was the first federally sponsored national meeting addressing inequities within the human service delivery system and serves as the nation’s leading educational equity event for practitioners, advocates, and researchers within the field.  1,500 in-person and virtual participants join for a series of knowledge and skill-building sessions, building powerful collaborative networks to promote and enhance the implementation of equitable policies and practices that will benefit children and families.

 In partnership with CT Children's Alliance we provide a free event designed by parents for parents and parent leader allies from across the state. It is an opportunity for parents to come together to network while they learn and grow together.
