COLE focuses on education justice organizing by offering high-quality training and accountability structures for new and experienced organizers.
COLE offers cross-regional storytelling, healing, and power building for organizers looking to sharpen their skills or make organizing a new career path.
The program teaches organizers a trajectory of professional work that leads to building organization, developing a political presence through public meetings, and taking public action towards creating, supporting, and sustaining world-class public schools, especially for underserved children.
The revolution begins internally, prepare to be uncomfortable, experience healing, and ground yourself in the tools you already have to create lasting change in your community.
Education organizations often focus on advocacy but rarely develop parents as leaders to build influential, public-aware organizations. Successful and sustainable parent organizing requires ongoing development in community organizing principles and practices, distinguishing it from periodic mobilization efforts.
Education organizations often lack in-house expertise for training, managing, and developing parent organizing talent, leading to parent-facing staff being assigned to other tasks or facing burnout.
Our facilitators bring professional experience in grassroots community organizing. All of our trainers and coaches have demonstrated success in building long-term reform efforts led by parent leaders.
COLE is designed to meet the needs of organizers and organizations through quality professional development sessions focused on community organizing theory and practice.
COLE Program is a six-month commitment involving four virtual sessions followed by a final in-person session spanning four days. Additionally, we offer professional coaching in between each sessions. Upon completion, COLE graduates will join our distinguished alumni network. As an alum, participants will have access to sponsored professional development opportunities and our online COLE Resource HUB.
Our program is designed to provide new organizers with a foundational understanding of community organizing theory and practice. We also encourage organizations seeking to launch a new community organizing effort to consider sending a small staff delegation in addition to their organizers to ensure alignment when implementing the organizing tools learned from
